A PLACE FOR YOU TO FEEL BEAUTIFULLY EMPOWERED ABOUT WHAT’S NEXT

Welcome to Guts & Gloss.

Guts & Gloss was started to take you through parts of my life that I was going through... exposing what it was like to be a caregiver for my husband at a young age, raising two daughters, being an entrepreneur, and yet still trying to find time for self-care all at the same time. Now as a remarried widow, I share my journey so I can help other women who are in a similar situation, see that there is hope after loss, when and if they are ready. I’ve lived by my own rules: taking risks, thinking outside of the box, making decisions based on gut instinct, mentoring others and trying to look my best while doing it. I’ve faced obstacles that would make your head spin, and yet, I have found the key to turning obstacles into opportunity laid in seeking out the beauty hidden in every challenge. I thought there HAS to be a way for me to share what I’ve learned. And Guts & Gloss was born. So glad that you’re here to join me on my journey!

I am on a mission to help women become their best selves and live their best life, without feeling guilty about it. When I was just 34 years old my late husband was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Our daughters were just 2 and 4 at the time. Overnight I became a full-time caregiver for the next 5 years while he fought hard for his life.

During that time I realized a lot about myself. I learned how strong women can be during the most difficult times. I also found myself very isolated, as I didn't know anyone else who could relate to what I was going through. I discovered the importance of self-care, self-love, and how to prioritize my emotional and physical health.

In August of 2019, my late husband lost his battle, and I was left a single mom. I was lonely, depressed, and heartbroken. I happened to meet someone sooner than I had expected. Instead of enjoying myself and accepting this new love into my life, I agonized and obsessed over how I felt, and looked for opinions from everyone.

Life is meant to be lived and loved.

I am here to help you realize you deserve your next chapter - on your terms and no one else’s!

GUTS

When was the last time YOU allowed yourself to dream?

Have you been so busy taking care of everyone else, you’ve forgotten about yourself? Do you take opportunities when they are presented, or do you turn them down? Has life thrown you a curve ball that you weren’t prepared for...and you’re having trouble getting back up on your feet? Guts is about using your challenges as momentum to keep moving forward even when you don’t think you can.

GLOSS

When was the last time that you took care of yourself FIRST?

Many women put themselves aside when they have families, work to manage, and especially when going through a big life change--and I’m here to say, it’s okay to keep the Gloss in your life. In order to take care of those around you, you need to take care of YOU first. Gloss is about self-care, self-worth, self-love--and looking and feeling great. No matter how serious your challenge may be: exercise, sleeping well, eating healthy, and treating yourself are just as important as any other “job” you have!

Your Next Chapter

How do you know where you are going if you don’t know what you want?

This is where it gets fun. Your next chapter is where you start to take steps to becoming an active participant in writing your chapter 2. What comes next is up to YOU. This is your time to actually decide what you want next in your life. Here is where you will find hope and inspiration to help guide you into learning more about yourself and what you want more of and less of in your next chapter. Chapter 2 is about figuring out who you are now, who you want to be, how to get there and so much more. Think of this as self-discovery with lots of purpose.
